Request Data Deletion
QBox Player, by OpenRise Studio
QBox Player does not use accounts — there's nothing to "delete an account" for. This page explains how to request deletion of the data we do hold, which is tied to a device identifier rather than to your name or email address.
How to request deletion
- Open QBox Player, go to Settings → About, and tap the Device ID to copy it.
- Email support@openrisestudio.com from any address, with the Device ID (and, if your request concerns a specific shared drop, the drop's QR link or slug).
- We'll verify the request is reasonable and delete the matching records, then confirm by email.
Because there's no account or login, we can only locate data if you provide the device identifier or drop link connected to it — we have no other way to look it up.
What gets deleted
- The device record and everything stored with it: device and app details, country, notification token and setting, usage and listening history (including song plays), activity records, in-app messages, and feedback;
- Any drops (shared songs) created by that device, including their audio files if not already auto-deleted, their track details, and any reports about them.
What may be retained
- Crash and error reports already sent to Sentry, per Sentry's own retention settings. Reports from the app aren't labelled with your device identifier, so we may not be able to find them; error reports from our servers can include it;
- Records of that device opening other people's drops, which keep its identifier until they are deleted automatically 365 days after each drop was opened;
- Backup copies of our database made before updates to our servers, which can still contain deleted records until they are deleted after 30 days (the five most recent copies are always kept);
- A note in our internal admin log that the records were deleted, with the device identifier and the reason, and any moderation actions taken against that device;
- Records we're required to keep for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons, kept only as long as reasonably necessary.
See the full Privacy Policy for complete details on what's collected and how long it's normally kept.
